Bibb County Jail Roster
The official Bibb County inmate roster is maintained by the Bibb County Sheriff's Office, led by Sheriff David Davis. The public search app is for offenders currently incarcerated in the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. It is a current-custody tool, not a full criminal history index. The Sheriff states that the information is made available as a public service and in the interest of public safety. It also warns that a current booking does not mean the person has been convicted, because the jail holds people who are awaiting trial, awaiting court action, or otherwise not yet sentenced.
The roster is updated every half hour, but jail status can change fast. A Bibb County inmate record may show in the search app before a court record is complete, or it may drop from the current roster after release, transfer, or sentence movement. For the official roster entry point, the Sheriff's Search for an Inmate page links to the public lookup, sex-offender tools, state parole resources, and other law-enforcement searches. For custody confirmation, call the jail or Sheriff rather than relying on a cached screenshot or a third-party jail site.
The Bibb Sheriff inmate landing page is shown in the official source image from the Sheriff's inmate search page.
That page is the best starting point for local custody because it separates the county jail search from state parole, sex-offender, and other record systems.
Use the Bibb Inmate Search
The direct lookup is the official Bibb Sheriff inmate search app. It includes a main tab for searching inmate information and a separate tab for viewing today's arrests. Name search is the practical path for most users. Use the spelling that appears on the person's court paperwork, bond documents, or citation if known, then compare the detail fields before assuming a match. Names can be shared by more than one person, and some recent bookings may not have every detail visible right away.
- Open the Sheriff inmate app and choose the search tab unless the need is limited to current-day arrests.
- Enter at least one name field. Last name is usually the best first search, with first or middle name added to narrow results.
- Review the result list for jacket ID, full name, race and gender, current status, and any release date or release time shown.
- Open the detail view to compare age, booking date, arrest date, bond amount, and charges.
- Use the jacket ID when mailing an inmate or when calling the jail about a possible match.
The official roster does not search people who have already moved to a state prison or federal facility. Sentences above one year are generally served in state or federal custody, not the Bibb County jail. If a person was booked in Macon but later sentenced, transferred, or released, start with the Sheriff roster and then move to the Georgia Department of Corrections or Federal Bureau of Prisons paths discussed below.
Bibb Inmate Roster Fields
The Sheriff app has a simple field set. It is built for current local custody, so it asks for name data rather than a full court case number. The public fields support broad searching when the spelling is uncertain, but narrow searches reduce false matches. The app also has a current-day arrest view, which can help when the person was recently booked and the family does not yet have a jacket ID.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Search Inmate Information | Tab | No | Main lookup for people currently held in the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. |
| View Today's Arrests | Tab | No | Current-day booking feed when the app has arrest results to display. |
| First Name | Text | Optional | Use with last name to narrow common names. |
| Middle Name | Text | Optional | Useful when two people share first and last names. |
| Last Name | Text | Optional, but at least one name field is needed | Best first field for a broad Bibb County inmate search. |
| Suffix | Text or dropdown | Optional | Use for Jr., Sr., or similar suffixes when shown on records. |
The Sheriff corrections image comes from the Bibb Corrections and Detention page.
The corrections page helps explain why the roster is local to Bibb custody and why work release, jail operations, and court transport are separate from statewide prison records.
Bibb Inmate Profile Details
A Bibb County inmate profile gives a custody snapshot. It should be read with the Sheriff's warning in mind: public jail data may change quickly, and it may not reflect current status at the moment a user views it. The detail screen can include charge data and bond data, but the court case file remains with the court that handles the charge. State Court, Superior Court, Municipal Court, and Magistrate-related records may have separate docket or clerk channels.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Jacket ID Number | The jail identifier used to distinguish the person and route mail correctly. |
| Name, Age, Gender, Race | Identity fields used to compare possible matches before acting on a record. |
| Current Status | The custody status displayed in the public roster result list. |
| Booking Date and Arrest Date | Dates tied to jail intake and arrest activity, when available in the detail view. |
| Amount of Bond | The bond display, which can show a dollar amount or "None" when no bond is shown. |
| Charges and Offense Code | The charge literal and code when provided by the jail data feed. |
| Release Date or Release Time | Release fields may appear in results when the app returns them for a name search. |
| Download | A detail action that exports a printable or PDF-style record from the app. |
Note: A jail charge is not the same thing as a conviction, and court disposition must be checked in the court file.
Bibb County Jail Facilities
The Bibb County Sheriff's Office lists the main jail and detention operations under Corrections and Detention. The Corrections Center is at 668 Oglethorpe Street, and the Detention Center is at 645 Hazel Street. The corrections page says the Corrections Unit houses more than 900 inmates, grew from a 585-inmate capacity in 2007, and has more than 140 employees. It houses male and female inmates age 17 and older who are charged with or convicted of misdemeanor or felony crimes. The Detention Center is described as a Work Release and Community Service Center with about 192 beds.

The Sheriff also lists main BCSO phone service at (478) 751-7500 and administration at (478) 746-9441. The Sheriff contact page places the Sheriff's Office at 668 Oglethorpe Street, Macon, Georgia. The Georgia Department of Corrections facility listing also lists Bibb County Jail at 668 Oglethorpe Street and gives a jail listing phone of (478) 621-5555.
State and Federal Custody
The Bibb County inmate roster is limited to current county jail custody. The Georgia Department of Corrections offender search is the correct route for a person serving a Georgia state-prison sentence. That system is separate from the Sheriff roster and should be used when a person has left the county jail after sentencing or transfer. The GDC county jail listing is useful for facility contact information, but the statewide offender query is the broader sentenced-prison search.
The GDC facility page assigned to Bibb inmate records is sourced from the state listing for Bibb County Jail.
The state listing is a contact reference, while the GDC offender query is the search tool for sentenced state custody.
Federal prisoners use a different path. The Federal Bureau of Prisons inmate locator is for federal custody and federal sentence records. Bibb County criminal charges, local warrants, state court dockets, and county jail status do not appear in BOP simply because a person was arrested in Macon. Use BOP only when the person is believed to be in federal custody or has a federal Bureau of Prisons number.
The federal source image comes from the Bureau of Prisons inmate locator.
This distinction prevents a local jail search from being mistaken for a prison or federal sentence search.
Bibb Booking and Court Links
Booking begins after arrest or surrender. Jail staff create the custody record, assign or confirm the jacket ID, enter identity fields, and attach charges as they are received. The public roster may show a person before the court docket is easy to find. That timing is normal. A first appearance, bond hearing, accusation, indictment, or traffic citation can move through a court office on a different schedule from the jail intake record.
Charges filed in Superior Court, State Court, Municipal Court, or Magistrate-related proceedings must be checked through the right court channel. Superior Court felony case records route through the Clerk of Superior Court and re:SearchGA when public. State Court cases may appear in the State Court docket search. Municipal traffic, parking, ordinance, and certain misdemeanor matters route through Municipal Court. The jail record shows custody and charge text, while the court record shows hearings, filings, plea, disposition, sentence, and warrant information when public.
Bibb Visitation Official Gap
Official Bibb Sheriff pages reviewed for this build did not publish a current visitation schedule, visitor approval process, visitor ID rules, dress code, minor visitor rules, onsite or remote visitation fees, or allowed visitor items. That gap matters because jail visitation rules can change with staffing, housing assignment, security level, medical status, court transport, discipline status, and vendor contracts. Do not use jail-aggregator schedules as if they were official Bibb County rules.
| Need | Official fallback | Use for |
|---|---|---|
| Current custody and inmate ID | Bibb Sheriff inmate search or jail phone | Confirm the person is still held and get the jacket ID. |
| Visitation schedule or approval | Jail information (478) 621-5611 or BCSO main (478) 751-7500 | Confirm current visit rules before travel. |
| Detention Center questions | Detention Center (478) 621-5666 | Work release or community-service custody questions. |
| Written policy request | Sheriff JustFOIA portal or bsoopenrecords@maconbibb.us | Request jail policy records when public. |
Note: Because official visitation hours were not located, the safest action is to call before appearing at the jail.
Bibb Inmate Mail Rules
Bibb County changed personal inmate mail procedures effective July 15, 2025. The Sheriff homepage and inmate app link an official notice stating that personal mail is no longer accepted directly by the facility. Personal mail must be sent to the Securus Digital Mail Center at the Tampa address below. Compliant paper mail is scanned and made available through eMessaging tablets and kiosks. Pictures and drawings can be scanned if compliant, but items larger than 8.5 by 11 inches and non-paper items are not accepted.
| Mail line | Required format |
|---|---|
| Line 1 | Incarcerated Name & ID # |
| Line 2 | Bibb County GA |
| Line 3 | PO BOX 25414 |
| Line 4 | Tampa, FL 33622 |
Senders should include a return address in case the inmate has been released. Packages, certified mail, checks, and money orders are not accepted through the personal-mail address and are returned. If a sender wants scanned mail returned, the notice says the sender must include a self-addressed envelope with enough postage. Otherwise, scanned physical mail is discarded. Legal mail and publications should not be sent to the Tampa digital-mail address; confirm those processes with the facility.
Bibb Commissary and Funds
The Sheriff's corrections page links Jailpackstore, operated by McDaniel Supply Company, for purchasing items for an inmate in the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. The vendor account process requests name, address, city, state, ZIP code, phone number, email, and re-entered email. Login uses a login ID or email, password, and reCAPTCHA. Vendor rules matter because the site handles packages and deposits, but it is not the Sheriff roster and does not disclose inmate balances.
The assigned Jailpackstore image is sourced from the jail package and deposit portal.
The vendor portal is useful for approved inmate purchases, but custody status and inmate ID should still be checked through the Sheriff roster.
Jailpackstore states that deposits cannot be canceled or refunded once submitted. Pending package refunds after release or transfer depend on facility return to the warehouse and usually take 7 to 14 days after delivery date. Shipping and handling are not refunded if a package is returned. The vendor accepts Visa, MasterCard, and Discover, but not prepaid credit or debit cards or cards receiving government supplement funds. It also states that deposits or purchases are not handled by phone.
Bibb Jail Records Requests
Some jail-related records are not visible in the public inmate app. For incident, accident, arrest, booking, or policy records, use Sheriff Support Operations rather than the court clerk. Research identifies Central Records contacts at (478) 310-4119, (478) 310-3824, and BCSOCasereportrequest@maconbibb.us. The Sheriff open-records clerk is listed as Abbey Robinson, with phone contacts (478) 310-4360 and (478) 300-9241, and email bsoopenrecords@maconbibb.us.
Use court channels for court filings. Use the Sheriff roster for custody. Use the Sheriff's open-records process for law-enforcement records that are not in the roster. That split is important in Bibb County because the Clerk of Superior Court, State Court, Municipal Court, Probate Court, Civil and Magistrate Court, and the Sheriff's Office each keep different records. A single inmate name may touch several systems, but those systems are not interchangeable.
